Yoga Basics

For Beginners and refreshers. If you want to try out yoga or know you should try yoga, this is the class for you. If you need to re-find your yoga feet after a long break or need reminding of the foundations that support even the most advanced of practices; then again, this is the class for you!
Without judgement or criticism, but full of love and attention, you will be lead through the very basics of yoga, from why we say ‘Om’, to finding your feet or your seat, in both standing and floor based poses. It won’t be long before you’re flying through a confident sun salutation.
Don’t worry if you don’t have the right attire, feel nervous or self-conscious, this class is made for those who aren’t flexible or those of you that think you don’t have ‘the yoga body.’ This class will provide a safe and fun environment to learn, laugh and love yoga.

Yoga

Suitable for beginner and beyond.
Our ‘Yoga’ classes do not fall neatly into any of our other class styles. Our teachers have studied a variety of styles within the yoga tradition so that his/her classes reflect a more eclectic, personal approach. The classes will be based around postural practice or traditional asanas, reflecting the teachers style, influences & personality! This class will create space for you to feel, move and connect with yourself.

Yoga Gently

Suitable for all levels. A class suitable for all, taking time to explore our practice & gently tuning into our body. Practicing yoga is a process of refinement and the more we practice the more we learn about who we are. Integrating somatics & a movement centred approach into a traditional yoga practice, you will learn to listen more deeply and with clarity to the wisdom of your body and build upon the intuitive strength of your heart.

Restore

Suitable for complete beginner up to advanced. In our restorative class, you will rest, fully supported on our comfy bolsters, yoga bricks, pillows and blankets, whilst breathing deeply and listening to relaxing music. This style of yoga is very gentle but provides a deep physical and emotional release from stress and tension. Some people say, they feel as if they’ve had a full body massage after this class. Bliss! It is also suitable for people suffering from or recovering from many types of illnesses. Please contact us if you need further information.

Warm Yin

Suitable for all levels. In this class the room is gently heated to allow an overall softening. People who generally feel “tighter” or suffer from stiff joints in winter may benefit from this gentle heat. Yin Yoga is a practice where postures are held for longer periods of time. This length of time is used to open into the thicker layers of connective tissues around the joints that a moving, dynamic practice may not as effectively access. You will be gently guided through the postures to allow a cultivation of stillness. Through this stillness the physical, energetic, emotional and mental states of being are refined and aligned through heightened inner awareness.
Yin Yoga is a perfect compliment to a dynamic (Yang) style practice and an extremely subtle and profound practice on its own. The practice is available to all wishing to slow down and soften.

Salute the Sun

A mixed class that will focus on strength & stability pairing the classic sun salutations with the more creative flowing salutations. This class is perfect for the summer mornings enabling us to cultivate & harness energy that the sun brings to our overall wellbeing.
Release & Repair

Suitable for all levels

Do you have chronically tight shoulders and hamstrings or feel stiff & achey? Is there an old injury or niggle that never really seems to go away? Do you want to improve the way you move your body in all of your activities? Then this class is for you. We focus on getting into the tight places in our body and learn how to unwind and release chronic stress and tension. Using Yoga Tune up self massage therapy balls we release tension and then move through a postural practice to lengthen, strengthen and increase mobility.

Strong Vinyasa

Suitable for people practicing yoga regularly. The Sanskrit word ‘vinyasa’ means ‘placing with awareness’. Our vinyasa classes are built around varied and creative sequences of postures linked by the thread of the breath, sometimes interspersed with longer holds. Breath focus is integrated throughout the class, helping to centre and quieten the mind, and classes may include pranayama and seated meditation.
In this stronger class we build different poses safely with strength, heat, and dynamic movements this class will have you challenge yourself mentally and physically.

Ashtanga Fusion

Suitable for all levels – Based on the traditional Primary series, in this dynamic class we take our time each week to focus on specific elements to help build strength & stamina. This class allows for people new to the practice to familiarise themselves with this dynamic style, and find their own expression of each posture. Those familiar with the style can expect additional core, mobility and strengthening work. A fun class to start your Saturday!

Vinyasa Beginners

Suitable for beginners and refreshers looking to move into some of our stronger Vinyasa classes or just enjoy a slower pace! This beginners’ class teaches you the foundation of Vinyasa Yoga, a dynamic yoga style that links the movement with the breath. We build up the classes slowly, repeating what you’ve learned and introducing new poses and transitions.
